Time Limit for Los Angeles Baseball League Play – May 1 2018 ages

18u Division
• 6 innings or no new inning after 1:45 minutes
• Must complete the inning
• No mercy rule
• Wood bats
• All other rules governed by NFHS

17u Division and 16u Division

• 6 innings or no new inning after 1:45 minutes
• Drop dead at 2:05 minutes
• No mercy rule
• Wood Bats
• All other rules governed by NFHS

11u and 12u Division (50/70ft)
• 6 innings or no new after 1:45 minutes
• Drop dead at 2:05 minutes
• Mercy rule 10 runs after 4 innings or 15 runs after 3

10u and 9u Division (46/60ft)

• 6 innings or now new after 1:40 minutes
• Drop dead at 2:00 hours
• 10 run mercy after 4 innings or 15 runs after 3
• Drop 3rd strike is enforced

8u Division (40/55ft)

• 6 innings or now new after 1:35 minutes
• Drop dead at 1:55 minutes
• 10 run mercy after 4 innings or 15 runs after 3
• Can not lead off (1st time is a warning. 2nd time baserunner is called out)
• No balks
• Baserunners can leave after the pitch is released
• Home plate is open
• Drop 3rd strike is not enforced
• 4 runs max per inning
• Last inning of the game is an open inning (Must be clearly declared open inning at the top half of the inning by the umpire)

Rosters
• Must fill a roster for each team- MANDTORY
• A roster must be turned in by week 3. Teams who do not turn in a roster cannot participate in the playoffs. Last chance for a revised roster is end of week 6 (teams may add 4 additional players at this point.)
• ROSTERS ARE MANDATORY

Game Balls
• Teams provide game balls
• If teams do not bring game balls they may bay them from the umpire for $5 per baseball

House Rules – All Divisions
• A team may start a league game with 7 players and finish with 8 players. Every time the 8th and 9th batter come up it is an out only the first time up.
• A team may not start a game with less than 7 players.
• Grace period is 20 minutes. After 20 minutes if the 7th player is not there once the grace period is over it will be recorded as a forfeit. A team that forfeits is responsible to pay both umpire fees for the day if the game or games are not played.
• A team may choose to bat 9 players, 10 players with an EH (Extra Hitter) or may bat the entire lineup.
• Each team may also have 2 players on their team that miss the age cut by one calendar year in league play only (no exceptions in tournament play)
• All other rules are governed by NFHS (National Federation High School)
